Event creation instructions

This document includes instructions to create events on the Seattle Makers’ website, including free, paid, single, and recurring events.  It also includes instructions on how to edit existing events, cancel existing events, and add to Meetup.com, all of which are cross-linked with intra-document hyperlinks.  All text and layout created by yours truly.

Open & closing checklists

The makerspace is staffed by volunteers who come and go, so it was important to have a consistent opening and closing protocol.  These documents are constantly being revised to reflect the current needs of the makerspace.

Autistic Joy

After I was diagnosed with autism, I was faced with a conflict: I needed to communicate my diagnosis (and my accommodations) with others, while simultaneously having an immense hatred for repetition. This document (and the website I turned it into) was the solution. After nearly a year of research and assessments, I created four distinct chapters: 1) an introduction to autism, 2) how autism manifests in me, 3) terms and phrases to use and to avoid, and 4) other helpful resources. Fun fact: the header font is one that almost perfectly replicates my own handwriting.

Project Manager Manual

As the office manager for a residential general contracting company, I was responsible for training project managers.  To make my job easier, I took the combined knowledge I’d gleaned from communicating with customers, listening to my boss and the owner of the company explain things to customers and to employees, and my own research, and wrote this manual.  I also designed all the graphics, tables, and flow charts contained therein.
